        Some notable dates

        1843-1848 Church built (In the Parish of Snaith)
        1849 The Parish of Goole formed 
        1855 Gaslighting in the church
        1852 Organ placed in the church 
        1859 Vicarage on Stanhope Street built
        1868 Church catches fire in tower. Clock and the gas lights and the pulpit, all destroyed, and the church bell cracked.
        1878 Churchyard full and closed
        1883 East Window installed
        1890 New bells, vestry and organ dedicated
        1890/91 New Vicarage on Hook Road
        1914 Parish becomes part of the newly formed Sheffield Diocese (from York)
        1923 Organ renovated
        1929 Bells overhauled and chimes added to clock
        1936 Crypt Chapel closed
        1948 Church restored at a cost of £3,500
        1980s New Vicarage, Clifton Gardens
        1988 New ceiling and Nave Altar at a cost of £88,000
        1998 April Church celebrates 150 years with a new Bishop of Sheffield in his early weeks in the diocese.
        2007 Vicarage moved to Salisbury Avenue

        Some vicars

        1849-1855 Revd. William Shilleto
        1855-1888 Revd. David Bell, had been a doctor both in Russia and in Ludlow before being ordained, and retired at the age of 80. His wife, Lady Dillon died within two  months of her husband.
        1888-1889 Revd. Clement J.F.Morton, came from Sheffield. Alas, he caught typhoid from the bad drains and died within two months, leaving a widow (for the second time) and three small children.
        1889-1909 Canon William H. Carr. The new vicarage on Hook Road was built for him, and there were many alterations to the church.
        1910-1916 Revd. Edmund Sinker. Goole became part of the new Diocese of Sheffield.
        1916-1920 Revd. Charles E. Curzon, came from Sheffield, and when he left Goole went to London where he became Bishop of Stepney, and later Bishop of Exeter.
        1920-1927 Rt. Revd. Geoffrey Lift, who had been Bishop of Shantung in China, was to be seen about the Town in formal dress, frock coat and gaiters!
        1928-1936 Revd. Herbert E. Wall. Church bells overhauled, and the Crypt Chapel closed.
        1937-1945 Revd. Lawrence L. Knightall, came from Doncaster, and whilst in Goole became a Canon of Sheffield Cathedral.
        1945-1956 Revd. Ernest H. P. Rawlins, during whose time the church celebrated its centenary, and was restored, money being raised for the Diocesan Fund as well. He was appointed a Canon of Sheffield Cathedral in 1947.

        1980-1995 Revd. Timothy Leach
        1996-2003 Canon Gordon Taylor 
        2005-2006 Revd John Stride, now Vicar of the Waterside group of parishes in Norfolk.
        2007-2011 Revd Tony Sophianou, came from Doncaster, now Vicar of Sprotbrough.
